The Cherries have valued Wilson at £50million to fend off interest from Chelsea. The Blues want Wilson, 26, and are willing to pay up to £30m to land the England striker this month. But Cherries manager Eddie Howe is determined to keep top-scorer Wilson at least until the summer. Bournemouth’s asking price is more than 16 times the £3m they paid Coventry for Wilson in 2014. However, Dorsett believes they are already looking at how they will cope if Wilson leaves in a possible hint that a move could be on the cards. Chelsea have also shown an interest in Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain, who played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli. “If he doesn’t get Higuain, he’s willing to spend £50million on getting Callum Wilson from Bournemouth,” Dorsett said. “If Bournemouth had that sort of cash, what would they do with it? “Is Dominic Solanke enough? No. They’ve just let Jermain Defoe go and they want another striker. “I’m sure we’re in a situation where Bournemouth have come up with a Plan B and a Plan C for if a silly offer comes in for Callum Wilson, and they have to let him go. “If it’s a big money offer for a club like Bournemouth, the higher it goes the harder it is to turn down. “Is £50million enough? It’s a lot of money, it’s a heck of a lot of money. “It’s more than you’re talking about for Gonzalo Higuain who I think will cost £32m if they get him in the summer. “You are talking such huge numbers with big players and big clubs, it feels like the transfer window is just starting to kick in. ” Chelsea’s assistant manager Gianfranco Zola angered Howe by admitting they were keen on bringing Wilson to Stamford Bridge. He has scored 48 goals in 126 league games since his move to the Vitality Stadium but has also had long spells out after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in both knees. Wilson has scored 10 goals for Bournemouth this season and netted on his England debut against the USA in November. He is under contract until the summer of 2022.
