Brazilian is closing in on a world-record £196million move to Paris Saint-Germain
Neymar looks to be edging ever closer to a world-record £196million move to Paris Saint-Germain after an abrupt visit to Barcelona’s training ground on Wednesday.
The Brazilian drove into the Joan Gamper facilities with two friends half an hour before training, but reports suggest he stayed just 43 minutes before leaving again.
Barcelona have confirmed that he was given permission to skip the session by coaches, but he now looks closer than ever to quitting the Catalan club.
Neymar looked pensive as he arrived at Barcelona’s training ground with two of his friends
Spanish radio station RAC1 report that Neymar’s visit to the training ground was to say his goodbyes to team-mates as he prepares for a move to PSG.
It is now expected that Neymar will head to Paris to continue negotiations, ahead of completing his money-spinning move to Ligue 1.
His former agent Wagner Ribeiro also waded into the news on Twitter on Wednesday, appearing to troll Barcelona with some kind words about Paris.
The Brazilian, who has over 70,000 followers on the social media site, wrote: ‘Paris wonderful, the Eiffel Tower, wine, gastronomy and football.’
Meanwhile, Neymar had only arrived back in Spain on Tuesday evening following a trip to the Middle East, and after a short rest was on his way to the training ground.
He arrived at the club’s Joan Gamper training ground at 9am local time with two friends, wearing sunglasses to shield his eyes from the Spanish sun.
