Dani Alves was doing something hilarious at kick-off for Barcelona vs Juventus
There can be no doubting Dani Alves’ undying love for Barcelona.
The Brazilian right-back joined Juventus on a free transfer last summer but still holds his former employers close to his heart, despite the unceremonious way he left the club.
“I did feel that I was slightly pushed out,” he said on Tuesday ahead of Juve’s quarter-final second leg at the Camp Nou
“I think coming back to Barca would require many things to change. Some people have gigantic egos and to return a lot of things would have to change to recognise the mistakes made.”
Alves’ behaviour during Juventus’ 3-0 win last week said it all about his affection for Barcelona – when Paulo Dybala scored, he refused to celebrate.
And when he arrived at the Camp Nou for tonight’s fixture, he jumped on the floor and kissed the turf. That’s real love.
Throughout his time at Barcelona, Alves was well known for his flamboyant personality and being a bit of a joker.
That was very much evident on Wednesday night when he was caught on camera mucking around with Barcelona’s bench moments before kick-off.
In the hilarious footage below, Alves can be seen playing with one of the coaching staff when the referee blows his whistle. No, seriously.
When the game starts, Alves is still having fun with Barcelona’s bench. Just look at Luis Enrique’s reaction when he realises the game has begun and Alves isn’t on the pitch.

Football fans naturally found Alves not being on the pitch for kick-off very funny, even if they were asking themselves what on earth he was doing.
